hi squid users,
i have a squid proxy server here in our isp and the cache keeps getting
bigger. we would add more hard drive to our server to address this
problem. i don't want to change the present cache and just add
additional hard disk. i just want to know if the configuration i have
here will work. i've searched in the archive and cannot find a very
similar (only a bit similar) to the task at hand. all hard disk are
80gb in size with the first one containing the linux os.
cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid 70000 16 256 - 1st hdd
cache_dir ufs /cache1 75000 16 256 - 2nd hdd
cache_dir ufs /cache2 75000 16 256 - 3rd hdd
cache_mem 64 MB
cache_swap_low 96
cache_swap_high 98
should i adjust the level-1 of cache_dir to 32?
my server is a p4-1.6ghz, w/ 512mb ram, running redhat 7.3 & squid 2.4
stable 7-4. i'm not using special configs for squid, just an access
list of all ips that we have.
thanks in advance.
