Freebsd and squid , advices needed

Hi list

Thinking to set up a Freebsd based "squid server"
I need some advices from admins that use such a
configuration, especially which PC hardware to
use and which NOT to use.
general configuration ... etc etc in a word
where are the traps to avoid ! ;-)
