Please try to start "squid" again, wait 1 to 2 minutes and then examine
the log file(s) again with

        sudo tail -20 /var/log/syslog

or

        sudo grep 'squid' /var/log/syslog

May be the last ten lines of "/var/log/syslog" don't show the reason.

But "Unable to open HTTP Socket" may point to the error.
