So URL paths then.

HTTP is designed so that manual erase is *never* needed.

  * Proxy obeying HTTP Expires: and Cache-Control headers will
automatically cause objects to be replaced when the server says they
need updating or when the client requests a data re-valiation.

  * Website sending proper Cache-Control, Expires and timestamps for
objects will cause correct replacement in your Squid and every other one.

So ... why do you face the need to touch the cache?
