Make sure you also install the glibc library debug package.
Its also a good idea to graph/sample the top-level system stats - vmstat, netstat -in,
etc - I graph stuff on munin but munin's granularity is ~5 minutes and not near enough
to see transient events. This'll show things like context switch increases, syscall
count increases, traffic/packet rate increases, etc, which may be an aide in tracking
down what is going on.
