Hi Mike,

Yes, windows integrated authentication is called NTLM.

Clients which do not support NTLM (Firefox out of the box, for
instance), will then get a regular dialog box popup for username and
password.

We only have internal users on our Sharepoint server, and thus they are
all a member of the active directory domain.

I take it to mean that from your description below that you are using
windows integrated authentication to your Sharepoint server via the
transparent proxy.

Are you successfully connecting to your Sharepoint server from outside
your
company's network? If so what authentication are you using and is it via
a
proxy?
