Hi,
I am dealing with a problem ( not sure if it is a bug ), with
Squid and SNMP. I am measuring some variables, such as cacheClients, with
MRTG.
My problem is that the value of cacheClients is not being
decreased, in the situation describe bellow.
For example: at 00:00 I have no more clients using the proxy and
cacheClients shows that I have 296 clients.
What I have checked?
==============
/usr/local/bin/snmpget -v1 -O n -m /etc/mrtg/squid.mib -c
mycommunity ip.my.squid.server cacheClients >>
/var/log/ipfm/clients_squid.txt
running at every 30 minutes.
ipfm, reporting at every 5 minutes, after 23:00, when it is
expected to have no
users ( or almost ) using the proxy.
access.log: last 10 lines of yesterday's access.log and first 10 lines of
today's access.log ( daily rotating ).
I noticed the following:
==============
At 00:00, accordingly to ifpm, there was no more than one client
using the proxy
(some user forgot to turn machine off).
access.log files shows that 23:19 was the last yesterday's
request and 06:53 was the first today's request.
The same hour (00:00) cacheClients said that there were 296 users.
MRTG graphs shows the same values as snmpget does.
Have I missed something?
Are my tests enough?
Could it be a bug?
Thank your for your attention.
Best regards,
Freitas
