Today We have updated from 2.5Stable.14 to 2.6.Stable9, all is working
fine, but we
have seen a strange behaviour with HEAD requests.
In a 2.5Stable squid version this happens:
-----------------------------------------------
[root@server libexec]# telnet squid2.5 8080
Trying squid2.5...
Connected to squid2.5 (X.X.X.X).
Escape character is '^]'.
HEAD / HTTP/1.0
HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request
Server: squid/2.5.STABLE14
Mime-Version: 1.0
Date: Tue, 30 Jan 2007 17:45:10 GMT
Content-Type: text/html
Content-Length: 3270
Expires: Tue, 30 Jan 2007 17:45:10 GMT
X-Squid-Error: ERR_INVALID_URL 0
X-Cache: MISS from X.X.X.X
Proxy-Connection: close
Connection closed by foreign host.
-----------------------------------------------
However, in a 2.6Stable9 this happen
-----------------------------------------------
[root@server libexec]# telnet squid2.6S9 8080
Trying squid2.6S9...
Connected to squid2.6S9 (X.X.X.X).
Escape character is '^]'.
HEAD / HTTP/1.0
Connection closed by foreign host.
-----------------------------------------------
There are no header information, so this is a problem for our nagios
system monitorization,
which is giving us an "invalid HTTP response received from host on port
8080 " information.
Thanks
Emilio C.
