The problem only happens for HTTPS. With HTTP it works OK.
It must be a problem with HttpsURLConnection, so I filed a bug report
with Sun.

Ny bet is that the JVM is confusead about digest authentication, or that
the application is using the JVM in odd manners making it confused..
