it is documented in the configurationfile (section "cache_peer"):

# use 'proxy-only' to specify objects fetched
# from this cache should not be saved locally.

when you use this option on squid1, it will not save any objects from
squid2.

I do not get viruses because I do not use MS software.
If you use Outlook then please do not put my email address in your
address-book so that WHEN you get a virus it won't use my address in the
From field.
