Hello,
As far as I known your situation is normal.
It shows the normal proxy philosophy and I don't think another way would
be better (for the cache, for security (firewall,...)).

Subject: [squid-users] squid uses its own IP address instead client IP
Address
Hi,
I am T.P.Vijayakumar, I am seting up a web cache to
enhance my user experience( Note all my users are
having a valid public IP).
But It seems the squid uses its own IP address to
contact web servers. So that means all the HTTP
replies will come for the Squid Machines IP. Is it
possible to configure the Squid so that the requesting
IP will be of Clients's IP address instead of the
Squid's machine.
I am running squid/2.5.STABLE12 on a Fedora Core 4.
running wccp with my cisco 3660. WCCP other things are
working fine.
With Regards,
T.P.Vijayakumar,
