Seems like overkill then...cacheing can be disabled in the config file. If you
aren't participating in a neighbor cache then those functions aren't used
either. I do understand that you are trying to make the footprint
smaller...I think you could write your own redirector in perl or your
preferred programming language, more quickly than trying to figure out how to
recompile a stripped down version of squid.
