To block free access of the internet, you have to set an blocking ACL or
firewall rule at the gateway.

From what I gather, the previous server was acting as a NATing internet
gateway (and the current one is now), and was likely blocking at least port
80 access from the "inside" network to the internet. How you do this is
dependant on what OS the gateway is running.

hi, perhaps someone could give me a hint... had to move the server and

if i dont configure the cache in the browser client.. it surfs the internet
freely.

How can i force the users to configure the cache in the browser client for
accesing the internet?

I not using transparent proxy, using ncsa_auth in squid.conf.

In the previous server, i didnt have that problem.. but the hardware is gone
so i cant check the conf
