[squid-users] RE: Not able to setup Squid with WCCP 2

List,

I have step forwared & came up with new problem. I have applied wccpV2 patch
& loaded ip_wccp.o module through kernel. Squid.conf is set to run with wccp
2 service ID 97 & default pasword I have set the same password & service id
at Cisco router (ISO 12.X) side but still I am getting authentication
mismatch error on router side. Squid box is sending Here_I_AM message but my
router is not able to discover WCCP2 squid box.

DEBUG ip wccp event opuput on the router

Here_I_am packet from cache x.x.x.x: authentication mismatch

My squid.conf for your referance :-

# Password for WCCP service. Password is mandatory, first eight

I am currently having a Cisco router (with IOS 12.X) with WCCP2 configured
on the same & a CISCO cache engine. The router has support for WCCP 1 &
WCCP2 both.
I want to replace this Cisco cache engine with Squid cache. I am using
RedHat 9.0 with squid-2.5.STABLE. By setting WCCP2 on the router side
router is able not able to discover the squid cache.

Cisco DEBUT giving following error.

1d20h: WCCP-EVNT:???: Unknown msg_type 7 on FastEthernet0/0 from X.X.X.X

Is there any patch I need to apply to enable WCCP 2 enable?
Also let me know what are the advantages on setting up WCCP2 over WCCP1. Is
there any major feature that WCCP2 give so that I can break my head in
setting up WCCP2.
