Well.. squid_ldap_auth uses the simple bind LDAP authentication method. As
a result it supports whatever password hashing methods supported by your
LDAP server.

The current version does.
But please note that this only encrypts the traffic between the proxy and
the LDAP server, not the traffic between the browser and the proxy server.
