Thank you for your suggestion..
I was using default Red Hat supplied squid 2.5 STABLE1. And, I was trying
out small cache of 100Mb on reiserfs-type parition. It had same problems.
After i download the source of current squid 2.5 STABLE4, and compile it and
use it with same configuration settings, the impact is BIG.
Visibly fast response time.
