[squid-users] Windows authentication failing - samba 3 beta 3

Does squid support windows authentication for Samba 3? I'm trying out
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 beta, and squid and samba seem appropriately
compiled.

plaintext password authentication succeeded
challenge/response password authentication succeeded

Yet # ./wb_group -d

This is using the same samba/squid configuration files that worked with
squid 2.5stable3 and samba 2.2.8a. Shouldn't this work?
