[squid-users] CPU usage on squid machine

dear all
i m facing a problem since last few days, users
complaint about about very slow browsing and dead
browsing. when we see access.log, it seem like stopped
while in cache.log the following message comes very
rapidly like 50 messages per second,

and CPU usage goes upto 99.9 percent. at this stage if
we shutdown squid and restart it, every thing becomes
normal amd squid starts serving clients as normal.
after restart the CPU usage is around 7 to 10%. i have
to repeat this practice twice or thrice a day. CPU
speed is 966 MHz and amount of RAM is 768. platform is
freebsd 4.3 and squid version is 2.5.STABLE2. any
solution to this problem?
