Depends on how good or poor your nearby DNS server is.
If your nearby DNS server is working good then there is no advantage.
If you have no nearby DNS server to connect to then there can be some
advantage, but often it is better to use the ISP DNS server.
The requirements for Squid is that the DNS server should be relatively
nearby, with a good userbase below it to have the DNS cache active. It
does not make a very big difference if this DNS server runs on the same
box or another box.
