Hi guys,
I hate to say it, but I did have this problem at squid 2.4 Stable7, when I
upgraded to 2.5Stable1 the problem went away. I am using IE6SP1.

See the Squid FAQ, or the squid-users archives for any week the last 4
months or so..
Resolution: Complain to Microsoft. There is nothing Squid can do about
totally utterly broken browsers and extremely slow response from a
browser vendor in getting their browsers in a working shape.
