I have it set up for port 7777, and I get the following:
% telnet discus 7777
Trying 150.203.126.185...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
and on the Squid machine:
discus> netstat -an | grep 7777
*.7777 *.* 0 0 24576 0 LISTEN
so I guess it's probably blocked somewhere along the line...
I tried the default port 3128, but with the same results :(
Telnetting similarly from the Squid machine itself does get a connection,
however.
Apart from being blocked by a firewall (which seems highly likely), I
can't think of anything else which could be causing the problem.

It's a Solaris 8 system and I don't have superuser privileges. In any
case, I imagine that the firewall is not necessarily on that system, no?
Does it seem that I am out of luck here?
Thanks for all the help :)
Andrew.
