Re: [squid-users] mail relay through proxy

The FAQ says all that is needed - prevent squid form connecting to port 25.
If squid can't connect to port 25, it can't relay mail.

Are you sure squid is being used for the relay? Do you see the traffic in
access.log?

If you have an MTA on the box, make sure it isn't open.
