Greetings,
I've gotten Squid to do all that I want except for two things:
1. If I set the client(s) (IE and/or Mozilla) manually, I see hits and
misses in the access.log as one would expect. If I use the recommended
autoconfig java script Example #1 (from
http://wp.netscape.com/eng/mozilla/2.0/relnotes/demo/proxy-live.html), I
never see anything in the log but their reading the script file. It's as
if the proxy is transparent or something. The script basically says if
the specified internal domain is requested, use DIRECT else return PROXY
proxyhostip:proxyport.
2. I'm using a file-based acl where if the client's IP is present,
proxying is allowed, otherwise not. What I want is to allow access to an
internal web server (not on the same host as the proxy) to all my
internal addresses, and only allow proxying if the client is in the
above acl file. The internal web server is also the source for the
script in item 1 as I'd prefer not to run another web server on the
proxy.
I've been beating on this for the past several days, and am at a loss.
Thanks for any help.
