The "always_direct" directive refers to squid by-passing any parent
caches. It has nothing to do with the browser not using squid. You must
configure the browser not to use squid.
Or, you could look at some of the other squid directives, eg no_cache.
Or you could configure the web server to make the page un-cacheable.
