[squid-users] Not writing to access.log files

when I rotate my access.log in logrotate.d

/home/squid2/logs/access.log {
    rotate 1
    daily
    postrotate
             /home/squid2/bin/squid -k reconfigure
    endscript
}

access.log file isn't written to. I have to manually restart squid to get it to start writing. Any suggestions.
