For example, if your benchmark setup can only produce 70 req/sec
without squid cache in the middle, do not expect it to measure 140
req/sec with Squid. This is just an example, of course. In general,
make sure your measured peak is the peak of Squid performance, and not
the peak of benchmarking tools/equipment performance.

Yes. Plus any idle persistent connections you may have. This counts
client-side connections only. The formula for the server-side
connections is the same though.
