Jop,
I have a WCCP problem. I am in transition to install a new server in place of the old one. At the same time, due to other changes in our network I've been trying to get WCCP working. Yesterday I thought I got it (with version 3) but for some reason it's not working anymore today. At the moment I feel a bit stuck... :-(
SETUP:
        cache-1:
                Linux 2.4.9
                - Redirecting port 80 --> Squid port with ipchains
(not yet moved to using iptables)
        cache-2:
                Linux 2.2.18
                - Redirecting port 80 --> Squid port with ipchains
        Squid 2.4S2
        Cisco 6509 IOS 12.0:
            Global:
                ip wccp version 1
                ip wccp web-cache
            Interface to internet:
                ip wccp web-cache redirect out
STATUS:
Squid WCCP version 4 - "almost" works, packets disappear?
- browsing is difficult as if some packets get lost or something, difficulties especially downloading images (example: slashdot.org loads almost none of the images)
Squid WCCP version 3 - doesn't work, Cisco doesn't redirect
- Our 65xx router sees the Squid(s) but won't redirect any traffic (with or without specific access-list). The same access list works if the Squid WCCP is set version 4
WCCP packets Cisco sees:
01:02:54: WCCP-PKT: Received valid Here_I_Am packet from cache-1 w/rcvd_id 00000172
01:02:54: WCCP-PKT: Sending I_See_You packet to cache-1 w/ rcvd_id 00000174
01:02:56: WCCP-PKT: Received valid Here_I_Am packet from cache-2 w/rcvd_id 00000173
01:02:56: WCCP-PKT: Sending I_See_You packet to cache-2 w/ rcvd_id 00000175

So now I have traffic redirecting but browsing doesn't work 100%...
Any ideas, anyone? I'd be happy to use the "version 4" if only I can make it actually work... :-)
Also, this setup seems to work as well/bad with or without the ip_wccp-module, go figure..
I've been reading WCCP v2 availability for Joe's Squid-package, is there any possibility to make it work with 2.4S2?
Thanks in advance.
