FW: [squid-users] Need Idea

Before I begin this project, I wanted to make sure that no other program
exists for this purpose.

The username/password example is not a good example, but filling in name,
address, phone, etc. fields automatically would be helpful. This would
allow me to provide default values for internal people using my proxy.

Obviously, for performance reasons, I would want to only search for these
fields within files specified and not in all downloaded files.

Maybe a configuration file could look like:

formfiller.conf
fileregexp searchregexp replacementstring

It could be extended to include a workstation name or ip address so that the
replacement string could vary depending on the internal workstation.

This is really beginning to intrigue me. Shouldn't be too difficult, but
could be a fun project.

I'm looking for an application that allows me to alter the content of a web
page. For example, I'm constantly going to a particular web site that asks
for a username/password. I'd like to have Squid alter the HTML content such
that:
  <input type="text" name="username">
becomes:
  <input type="text" name="username" value="myusername">

and the same for the password. It would save me a lot of time. I just
started my search recently, but haven't found anything like it yet. I'm
figuring I'll have to write it myself unless you come up with a solution.
