This capability is delivered via Windows System Policies that are put in as
you login to the network. squid is a proxy and that is all it should be.
It is very easy in a Windows shop to set the policies to have IE use the
squid proxy. I have this exact setup today. I do not want squid to take on
bloat. Having this is squid would be horrible!!

Well,
currently I know only one feature I had been asked for which squid could not
satisfy:
Micro$oft IE / Winn2000 offers an option which kind of autokonfigures the
Webbrowser via a script / or maybe similar to DHCP for use with the proxy.
It should be easy to implement something like that.

Or maybe a comfortable frontend for administering users with NCSA-
authentication . You should offer usergroups and admins. It should be
possible to give an admin only the right to administer usergroup a & b but
not c.

I personally think that squid might become stronger if it could offer any
clustering loadsharing features for free withou using expensive Layer 4
switching technology.
