I have squid setup between my local net with privat IP numbers and the
internet on a RedHat linux 7.0. I can reach the internet perfectly.
Now I have setup a second privat net behind my first privat network like this.
+------------+ +------------------+ Net1
Net2
| Internet |-------| Proxy server
|-------------------------+ +---------------------
+------------+ +------------------+ | |
+-----------+
| Router |
+-----------+
If I try to reache the internet from the second subnet squid gives the
following dialog back to the client:
408 Request Time-out
Server: Squid/2.3.STABLE4
Mime-Version: 1.0
Date: Wed, 18 Apr 2001 09:32:12 GMT
Content-Type: text/html
Content-Length: 619
Expires: Wed, 18 Apr 2001 09:32:12 GMT
X-Squid-Error: ERR_LIFETIME_EXP 0
In the logfiles I can't find any entry about what is going on. This problem
is not related to client configuration, because a client that runs well on
the first subnet, does also have these problems on the second subnet. I
have put both subnet ranges in the acl definitions. Seeing the above error
message, I don't think that access is denied. At this moment I run out of
debug options. Can someone tell me what is wrong here.
