RE: [squid-users] Remote site requires auth

I wish it were working that way for me.

The site won't prompt for auth when I try to access it through Squid, which
I have configured as a transparent proxy. Instead, the site times out.

If I use an account outside my network (no proxy) the site works fine. Or if
I use anonymizer.com to access the site from inside my network (trans
proxied) it works fine.

The site just won't connect through Squid and I never get prompted for login
credentials.

The site is online again. Can you (or anyone here) try to access it now?

If I try to directly access the site, it eventually times out. However, If I
goto www.anonymizer.com and put the url there, it connects fine and prompts
for credentials.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Always direct is telling squid to go direct to the server and don't use
any intermediate proxies. It is not telling the browser to bypass squid.

Can't help at the moment. The server distrib.adriansteel.com is off the
air.
