[SQU] FTP problem using SQUID

I use SQUID as a proxy. When i download with programs
like FlashGet, from a http address downloads using
multiple instances decreasing this way the necessarry time
to de download. But there is a problem if I use an ftp
site: there is only one instance, which would not be such
a problem, but if for some reason the downlod stops,
IT CAN'T RESUME FTP DOWNLOADS.
I have to mention that i have a PARENT PROXY. Could
it be his fault?
