Intranet access through Squid

Hi! I wish to use the proxy server ( SQUID ) for access
to our company's intranet. How can i do this?
People tell me that this was possible before but someone
must have changed the configuration file and now it's not
possible. I don't know who had been working with the
proxy server before so i won't have any inside help.
