Is Squid Working Well?

Greetings

I need to document performance criteria, if my squid cache is performing
well or not. Does any one have any ideas of what variables to monitor to
access objectively if squid is performing well over time and at any one time
if someone asks me is squid performing well how would one evaluate this?
