Some time this month , our parent ISP informed us that they are using
CIsco Cache engines for surfing improvements , but then when i go to
sites where they log the IP of the client accessing it ,the log revealed
our IP . So does this means that Cisco Cache engines can do 'Cache Only ,
No Proxy' ? if yes , is squid capable of doing this ? if no , then i guest
the best solution is to wait for some new technology to do this!
By the way , can someone please define WCCPv1 and WCCPv2 and their
defference ( improvements/changes from v1 to v2) and it's relationship
with squid , i mean , can squid do the same technique ? how about the
performance/reliability issues ? as far as i know , squid is the fastest
PC based proxy/cache software ever. with it's bulk features (i.e ICP)
how about , "Squid vs Cisco Cache Engine" ?? ..hmmmmm
  - performance
  - features
  - reliability
  - Cache only , no proxy issue ?
  - Proxy with several IPs to use in one interface ( round robin/ client
    request based)
  - cost
  - limitations
  - etc.
