Okay, I can paraphrase the article in one sentence.

"Telstra, a large Telco from down under, got the Y2K virus and, rather
than changing the three known routines with Y2K bugs in their ancient
version of Squid, decided to ditch their home grown infrastructure built
on Open Source with a NetApp hardware based solution that allowed them to
sue a vendor in case their infrastructure collapsed".

Sigh. I think the NetApp stuff is good, as I think is Squid, but I
recommend treating content-free reports like this one with a container of
salt.

The winner of an award for being the silliest lawyer-repellent information
in user manuals: "Do not iron clothes that are being worn".
