Dear list,

I installed squid 2.2STABLE4 on my RedHat 6.1 Intel system (a P100 with
32 Mb RAM). I changed the http_port to 8080 and I can not get the squid
proxy my requests. This is the error message I receive:
----------
The following error was encountered:

* Access Denied.

Access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at

this time. Please contact your service provider if you feel this is
incorrect.
-----------
First I scanned the FAQ. I did not found anything which helped me. I
included the "debug_options ALL,1 28,9" in squid.conf and restarted
squid but I got no entries in cache.log when trying to access an outside
URL but the error message above. I also verified that the "acl safe
ports" but the default was OK for me, but did not work.

I also searched at www.deja.com and other perople have obviously
experienced similar problems, but I could not find any answers to their
request.

I have also searched the monthly posting of squid-users mail. In a mail
from 6-sep Henrik Nordstrom wrote "By security reasons the default
RedHat squid.conf only allows localhost access to Squid. " so I added an
acl "acl flynet src 172.24.0.0/255.255.0.0" and "http_access deny
!flynet"

What am I doing wrong ?
Can any one help me ?

http_access deny !flynet

# INSERT YOUR OWN RULE(S) HERE TO ALLOW ACCESS FROM YOUR CLIENTS
#
http_access allow localhost
#http_access deny all
........

I am by no means a guru but try this:

http_access allow flynet

#
# INSERT YOUR OWN RULE(S) HERE TO ALLOW ACCESS FROM YOUR CLIENTS
#
http_access allow localhost
http_access deny all
