Or try the Delegate proxy (http://wall.etl.go.jp/delegate/), which
can act as a caching ftp proxy (but only in a very non-transparent
way).
(Delegate seems to be a slower proxy than squid, though, as least
for the http protocol -- or I have done something very wrong when I
tried Delegate, or it could be a combination of the two.)
