Unknown cache_dir type '/usr/local/squid/cache'

Problem:(
When I start the squid as root(use default squid.conf)
Then it show me the following message:
>FATAL: Unknown cache_dir type '/usr/local/squid/cache'
>Squid Cache (Version 2.3.DEVEL2): Terminated >abnormally.
>CPU Usage: 0.015 seconds = 0.008 user + 0.008 sys
>Maximum Resident Size: 924 KB
>Page faults with physical i/o: 0

But '/usr/local/squid/cache' has created by permission
755.
I don't know why??
(use default configure)
(Can't found the solution in http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/FAQ/)
