The host was probably down or refusing connections when you first tried
the long name. Squid then negatively cached the error.
Negatively cached responses goes away after 5 minutes (or whatever you
have set negative_ttl to), or when you force a refresh of the object
(reload button, unless you are using transparent proxying which may make
this troublesome).
