A decent proxy benchmark would allow you to simulate the server side as
well as the client side. Then you control the delays. Give Web Polygraph
a try.
The real problem is that commercial vendors are paranoid and scared of
each other. AFAIK, any commercial proxy comes with an agreement that you
will not disclose any benchmarking results to the public.
