I'm using squid-2.2-stable3 on an AMD K6/200 w. 128 MB RAM and a dedicated
8.1 GB HDD only for cache swap. Until today, i used cache_swap_high 99 and
cache_swap_low 98. But this morning the server went down (reasons other than
related to squid) and, at reboot time, squid refused to start, complaining
about the cache HDD - that was actually 100% used.
I decreased high to 98 and low to 97 and everything went ok; squid deleted
some of the cache files then started normally. So, i'm asking, isn't actually
dangerous to set cache_swap_high to 99 ? If it is so, that should be mentioned
in squid.conf.
