I've seen some mentions of similar with linux 2.2.8. We are curently
trialling linux 2.2.7-ac2 on 2*Xeon/450 and 4*Xeon/450 boxen with no
earth-shaking problems (once, the network stopped responding, until we
rebooted. No other problems so far)
