Here is the $0.25 HowTo.
1) Get Squid setup as an acellerator.
2) get a simple redirector working.
3) make the redirector more comples
4) your are done.

If you want to see an example of this at work look at
www.webpersonals.com. It has a squid front end to a number of web servers.
