(Last time I had a problem with enabling SNMP, it turned out that all that I
did wrong was say "make" instead of "make all"! Oh RTFM!!! hope that helps
someone! Thanks to those that tried to help me it was appreciated)
SNMP is working beautifully running Squid 2.1 patch 1. I use MRTG 2.5.1
patched to use default port 3401 & had to rewrite the OIDs in MRTG to pick
up the new OID paths!!! But I got there (yay!). I successfully graph HTTP
Requests agains HTTP Hits & all is well...
...well not quite. In the Cache Manager I get a stat
"client_http.hit_kbytes_out=<whatever>" which doesn't show in the MIB
defined for Squid2.1.PATCH1. So I can't use my hacked patched MRTG 2.5.1 to
graph total HTTP bytes against hit HTTP bytes :-( sob!
Have I just missed something?
Cheers
Marc Lucke
PS I used to gather these figures using a Perl script to analyse the log
files every five minutes (and then delete them so I didn't run out of room
in my squid partition) which was successful but of course introduced some
overhead & was a lot less elequant.
