Squid caching problems

Hi;

        I have sent two requests for help to this list in the past 4
days, with no responses. I am wondering if nobody can help me with my
problem, or people are simply not ready to answer more basic questions
in this list?

        I am having a problem with squid2patch2.0 wherein it's memory
usage jumped from a 3-4 month consistent average of ~28mb to a average
~60mb over the past week, with *NO* changes to the squid.conf file
whatsoever.

        What could possibly have caused the memory usage to double within the
timespan of two days????

        PLEASE HELP!!! The machine this system is running on is a production
system, and as such, cannot be 'doing things on its own' like this...
