RE: Automatic Proxy

Yes, you can do this. The difference is, Netscape incorporates the Web
server that serves the Automatic Proxy Configuration file into itself; to do
this with Squid, you'll have to set up a separate Web server, either on the
Cache box or somewhere else. I'd suggest Apache.

Once you get a server set up, you'll have to add a MIME type for the .pac
file, and create the file. See
