Wait a minute here. The proxy, the router and the machines are in the
same network segment which makes routing kind of undefined unless you
are using route-maps or something similar that forces the traffic to go
througth the proxy server..
What I think is causing your problem is that for one reason or another
the stations sometimes bypasses the proxy route and goes directly to the
router. If this happens for as much as a single packet then you will
certainly see "Connection reset by peer" messages.
