Strange message when rotating log files.

   Hello,

   I rotates my squid logs every nights and sometimes (about once
a week) I get the following message on the root console :

Aug 19 23:46:03 cognac squid[22368]: Failed to fork() for ftpget.

   It doesn't seem to affect the (good) behaviour of the cache
(squid-1.1.20 on hpux-10.20). There is plenty enough feee process
slots on the machine and I wonder what is happening here. Has anyone
already seen this ?
