Hi,
I have 2 squid 1.2beta22 boxes (Pentium Pro 200 / RedHat Linux 2.0.34, with
3 x E-IDE 6Gb and 256Mb memory) configured for 15Gig harddisk usage. After a
few weeks the amount stored on the harddisk is still around 5Gig. I also
notice a periodical slowdown (every so many hours for 2 to 3 minutes). But
the machine is not swapping, and uses all of the available memory.
This is what TOP gives me:
60 processes: 57 sleeping, 3 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped
CPU states: 27.5% user, 70.0% system, 0.0% nice, 2.6% idle
Mem: 257132K av, 252828K used, 4304K free, 31192K shrd, 80028K buff
Swap: 130748K av, 0K used, 130748K free 44084K cached
PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT LIB %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
  390 nobody 13 -5 98444 96M 920 R < 0 96.0 38.2 1107m squid
What is wrong with my configuration ? Do I need more RAM ?
